Traverse City Film Festival: Back to Back to Back at the State and One at the City Opera House — Thursday

Fiction Jury off to an early start with a stop at Crema, where I ran into Mary Lou Chlipala, UofM Program Coordinator in the Screen Arts and Cultures and a member of the Short Films Jury.

Noon screening of Michael Douglas in Solitary Man, then the State Green Room for some film talk and r&r with film composer Alexander Janko (My Big Fat Greek Wedding) and Erin Trahan from www.independent-magazine.org (the online magazine for indie film). Fiction Jury member Michael Mittelstadt joined us.

Please Give was up next, directed by Nicole Holofcener. Along the way ran into fellow Jury member Rich Brauer. Then grabbed a quick shot of Tracy Kurtz and cousin Pete.

Before Will You Marry Us, which hubby Jim described as the “Swiss Once,” stopped in for a quick real meal with Larry Brand, Jim, waitress Joy, and Alexander.

Finished a great day of film watching and jurying with great food from the Silver Swan in the City Opera House Green Room. Met Terri Sarris, also a member of the Short Films Jury and a faculty member at UofM’s Screen Arts and Cultures Dept. Then met the engaging Thomas Ikimi, the writer/producer/director of the psychological drama Legacy.
