Miriam Pico can belt out “I Will Survive” alone on an acoustic with the force of a five-piece band and can also write
songs with hooks. She demonstrates both on her home page.
She’ll perform at 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 11 at Immaculate Conception School, her alma mater, to celebrate her latest CD I Am Myself and will have 10 musicians, including horns and backup singers, supporting her. Tickets, $5.
One of the things I like about her is that she puts all her energy into feeling a song and doesn’t resort to unnecessary vocal acrobatics.
She likes to call her self a “musician with a mission,” and concessions will offer fair trade chocolate, coffee, jewelry and gifts at the concert. Listeners can bring food, toiletries, diapers to donate at the door for local food pantries.
