Thought I’d work at home in Glen Arbor today–you know tuck in and get a whole lot of magazine writing done. So here’s my day in not so sleepy Sleeping Bear Dunes country so far:
30 a.m. went for run on Alligator Hill and crossed paths with a nice sized bobcat–think, cougar sized but with a bobbed tail.
a.m. Jumped in Lake Michigan–aaahhhh
a.m. Interviewed Senator Carl Levin at the Sleeping Bear Dune Climb where he was helping to launch the new Sleeping Bear Dunes bike trail. Watch for the interview on MyNorth.com.
30 p.m. Home again to work. Cell phone rings. It’s Alberto Orso from Good Morning America calling to tell me that SLEEPING BEAR DUNES NATIONAL LAKESHORE IS A FINALIST (like a serious finalist) in the Good Morning America 10 Most Beautiful Places in America contest. If we win, the GMA crew flies in Monday (get those rooms ready Homestead!) and films a big segment on Wednesday in Glen Haven. They’ll want a BIG crowd there so get ready! BUT FIRST YOU HAVE TO VOTE!!!!!! Click on the link and make it happen! http://abcnews.go.com/Travel/best_places_USA/sleeping-bear-dunes-mich-outdoor-guide/story?id=14233276
