Traverse City National Writers Series, Doug Stanton and Jack Driscoll

As I write this, our MyNorth.com videographer, Kris Riley, is getting our conference room set up to film Doug Stanton interviewing Jack Driscoll about his new book, set in Northern Michigan, The World of a Few Minutes Ago (Wayne State University Press, 2012). I’ve been with Traverse, Northern Michigan’s Magazine almost 25 years now, but I am still amazed at what a hub of creativity our region is. To wit, on this otherwise ho hum Monday morning (well, not exactly ho hum given that Grand Traverse Bay is the color of the Mediterranean outside our office windows!), a New York Times best selling author is interviewing an author/instructor from the Interlochen Arts Academy, one of the premier arts high schools in the country. In our office.

I’ll¬† post a link to the video when Kris has it edited. But in the meantime, catch up on everything that Doug Stanton and the staff at the Traverse City National Writers Series are up to by reading the article¬†“Never Ending Story” in the February issue of Traverse, Northern Michigan. Find the complete print version on the newsstands now, or order at the MyNorth.com store.
