Come hunt for the biggest pike you can find in the Islands Wildlife Annual Pike Fishing Contest! The Les Cheneaux channels are full of beautiful wild pike, offering you the chance at some big money.
The competition ends Memorial Day, Monday, May 26, at noon. Cash prizes are awarded to the 3-biggest fish in each age bracket, adult and youth, as are bragging rights to the fisherman/woman wielding the largest Pike.
Islands Wildlife is a non-profit fish and wildlife organization that sponsors fishing tournaments and an annual dinner/auction each year. Proceeds from these events go to local causes, like scholarships for environmental science or conservation students, invasive weed control, fish and wildlife habitat enhancement, and more.
Register at Cedar Pantry in Cedarville by 2pm, Thursday, May 15. Contest ends at noon on May 26.
Hessel, Cedarville and Les Cheneaux Islands are in the Eastern Upper Peninsula on M-134, along the shores of Lake Huron.
