The University of Michigan Biological Station (UMBS) invites the public to its annual Discovery Day on Saturday, July 12, from 2-3:30 p.m.
Visitors can attend a general science presentation from 2-2:30 p.m. UMBS instructors from the “Algae in Freshwater Ecosystem” will entertain guests with a talk about the usefulness and, yes, beauty of algae.
Guided tours of the Station will follow the presentation. Tour stops will include several classrooms and laboratories where faculty will have specimen collections on display. Staff will also be available to talk with high school or college students about how to earn university credit for classes taken at UMBS.
