Left Foot Charley Winery hosst the 6th Annual Harvest Festivus at the Grand Traverse Commons.
As a thank you for the tremendous local support this summer, LFC offers free horse drawn carriage rides from Noon-3pm, kids activities, winemakers in Lederhosen, German Oompah Music, Fresh Cider, Federweisser, Wine Tasting and Hard Cider.
The Festivus kicks off the 2012 grape harvest season. Left Foot Charley plans to press over 100 tons of locally grown grapes this season.
Footnote: Left Foot Charley is Traverse City’s local winery located in the former State Hospital campus known as the Village at Grand Traverse Commons. Bryan Ulbrich has been making local wines since 1996 and focuses on white wines and Hard Apple Cider. Left Foot Charley works with fourteen local, independent grape growers who grow exclusively for the winery. The wines highlight these small vineyards and demonstrate how unique each site is. The winery hosts wine and cider tastings, wines and ciders by the glass, and small food plates.
