Suttons Bay artist Will Case is a multi-media man: studio jeweler, sculptor, weathervane maker to name just a few of the media he’s taken on in a career that spans 40 years. Case looks back — and forward — on his artmaking at the Feb. 7 “Talk About Art” interview, 7:30 p.m., Glen Arbor Art Association, 6031 S. Lake St.
Case might be most immediately recognized as one half of Case-Daniels and Rae, a jewelry workshop in Suttons Bay. But Case has explored a wide range of media since graduating in the late 1960s with degrees in art from Michigan State University. His metalwork is held in private and public collections, most visibly at the Traverse Area District Library where one of Case’s signature mobiles hangs from the ceiling in close proximity to the central staircase.
“Talk About Art,” now in its fifth season, brings local and regional artists to the GAAA for conversations about art making, thinking and process. The series is open to the public without charge. For more information, please call 231/334-6112.
