The Russian National Ballet returns to the Opera House stage with the spectacular production of one of the most beloved ballets of all time, Swan Lake.
Swan Lake is known for its demanding technical skills because of one extremely gifted ballerina, Pierina Legnani. She performed with such grace and discipline, the audience and everyone who saw her claimed she set the bar. In spite of its extreme difficulty, it remains a favorite for many girls because of its extreme difficulty; technically and emotionally.
Today, the Russian National Ballet Theatre, formerly the Soviet National Ballet, is its own institution, with over 50 dancers of singular instruction and vast experience, many of whom have been with the company since its inception.
