“A Salute to World War II Veterans,” an exhibit on WWII runs Nov. 8–Dec. 6. The exhibit contains local Traverse City area WWII memorabilia from the Con Foster Collection and features local photos of what our citizens did for the war effort.
Nov. 21, 7pm: A Veteran’s program about a rescue attempt on a U.S. Cargo plane that crashed on the Greenland ice cap Nov. 29, 1942. In attempts to find survivors a B-17 bomber and Grumman Duck plane crashed. The program includes discussion on the survivor’s fight to stay alive and the expedition 70 years later to find the remains of the ones lost. Retired Coast Guard Master Chief John Long is the presenter.
Exhibit open Wed.-Sat. 10am-5pm.
Cost is $5 for all guests, age 4 and under free.
