To commemorate Oryana's 40th anniversary, Archangel Ancient Tree Archive is donating 1000 Acme Black Willow trees to give away to the community. The trees are propagated from the Champion Black Willow Tree in Acme, Michigan, the fifth largest Black Willow in the state. Trees will be available at Oryana Natural Foods Market starting Saturday, April 20 in the morning, first come, first served.
Black willow will grow on almost any soil and requires full sun, but its shallow, wide-spreading roots need an abundant and continuous supply of water during the growing season. If you have access to a stream, pond, river, lake, or marshy area, consider planting one of these trees.
Archangel Ancient Tree Archive is a non-profit organization in Copemish, Michigan, working on a global mission to collect, propagate and archive the genetics of ancient champion trees from around the world, with the goal of planting these trees to reforest the Earth.
