Carol’s historical novel, The Stonecutter’s Aria, was written in honor of her immigrant grandparents. In this stunning visual program she will share her personal journey back to her homeland as well as take you to the Italy of a hundred years ago, recreate her ancestor’s ocean voyage experience, their entrance through the gates of Ellis Island and the terror of their early years in America at the hands of the KKK.
Carol’s love affair with Italy began when she traveled with her grandmother to their ancestral homeland in Tuscany. There she learned from her grandmother through stories, cooking and listening to Pavarotti. Years later she traveled to Italy again, taking her grandmother’s journals with her and writing down her stories. Carol wrote the award-winning book, The Stonecutter’s Aria and the Etruscans.
