First Saturday Stargazing Series: Astrophotography at the Headlands.
Tonight is the first in a dynamic seasonal series of stargazing opportunities, designed for all ages and all levels of interest.
This evening's program on astrophotography is timed to coincide with the Eta Aquarid Meteor Shower, sister to October's Orionid Meteor Shower, both which derive from Halley's Comet. Whether you love stars that shoot through the skies for wishing on, or you want to shoot stars with a camera, tonight's event is for you! Telescopes are provided.
Sunset is 8:49pm this evening; meteor shower peaks after midnight.
Mackinaw City, on I-75, is at the very tip of Michigan's mitt, the last stop before crossing the Mackinac Bridge.
