Event Description

The Writers and Readers Speaker Series continues with local author Jerry Dennis.

Dennis is an acclaimed nature,science and outdoor writer whose essays have appeared in such publications as Audubon, Smithsonian, Orion, National Geographic Traveler and the New York Times. His books have appeared on national bestseller lists, have been translated into five languages and are taught in many universities and high schools.

Among Dennis's awards are the Michigan Author of the Year Award, the Sigurd Olson Nature Writing Award, Michigan State University's Great Lakes Culture Award and three Best Books of the Year awards from the Outdoor Writers Association of America.

There is no charge to attend.

Kalkaska, home of the National Trout Festival, is located where M-72 meets U.S. 131, about 25 miles East of Traverse City.
