The Commission on Aging & Senior Center (COA) in partnership with the Crawford County Transportation Authority plans trips.
Wed. Aug. 14, 9am. A trip to Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary. This trip includes a 65 foot Glass Bottom Boat Tour to the heart of Lake Huron’s Shipwreck Alley. There is also a guided museum tour. The $70 cost includes Cruise and Tour, Lunch at the Courtyard Italian Restaurant in Alpena and Transportation by Dial-A-Ride. Dinner is on your own at Culver’s in Gaylord. Registration and pre-payment is required by August 7th to reserve a seat. The bus is scheduled to leave at 9am and returns by 8pm.
Sept. 11-12. An overnight trip to Mackinac Island. This trip includes transportation by Dial-A-Ride, Shepler’s Ferry to Mackinac Island, spacious overnight accommodations at The Bicycle Street Inn, a pizza buffet lunch on Wednesday, carriage tour, dinner at Goodfellows Italian Chophouse, continental breakfast, carriage ride to the Grand Hotel (self tour), carriage to and admission to Butterfly House, Carriage to downtown with the opportunity to explore downtown and lunch on your own and Shepler’s Ferry back to Mackinaw City on Thursday. The cost starts at $210/person (double occupancy); $280/person (single occupancy); $190/person (triple occupancy); and $185/person (quad occupancy). Registration and pre-payment is required by August 9th.
