Ambassador Robert Gribbin, one of America's most respected experts on Africa, will speak on the enormous changes underway on the continent. He will discuss the growing militarization of U.S. involvement on the continent, the complex task of bringing democracy to tribal societies, the influence of Islamic radicalism, and the economic and political challenges posed by urbanization and the latest round of foreign exploitation, this time led by China and India.
Forums are held from 6 to 7:15 p.m. Thursdays in the Dennos Museum Center's Milliken Auditorium on NMC's Main Campus. Everyone is invited to attend the 5:15 p.m. reception.
Tickets are $10 at the door; area students and teachers admitted free of charge. Instructors wishing to send an entire class should call 995-1700 to arrange for complimentary student tickets.
Updates are made to the schedule on a regular basis and posted online.
