Deirdre, A Celtic Tale is a beautiful medieval Irish legend. The ballet is based on Deirdre and the Sons of Usna, adapted from the original Gaelic by John Stuart Dick. The score is a magnificently orchestrated soundtrack by Mychael Danna and Jeff Danna with additional music by the Tannahill Weavers and Carter Burwell. Stunning period costumes, lavish sets and Thomas Morrell’s moving choreography intertwine to transport the audience to an ancient Ireland of ruthless kings, fearless knights and forbidden love.
