Sleder's Family Tavern, Reel World Studios and Connemara Concerts announce a very special afternoon of music featuring Paul Koss and his band. This performance is a part of the ongoing On the Porch Concert Series.
This concert is in part a musical salute to our area veterans and a benefit performance for Operation Injured Soldiers. This organization focuses on the needs of veterans, in particular the wounded veteran. The mission of Operation Injured Soldiers is to help the people who have given so much on our behalf to overcome these obstacles and resume a productive and fulfilling life through programs that help them get back into their personal hobbies and interests. Operation Injured Soldiers partners with corporate sponsors, individual contributors and volunteers to provide an easy and meaningful way for individuals and corporations to help these veterans and their families carry out meaningful lives.
Paul Koss is a fine singer/songwriter from the area. He's been active in the “Northern Michigan Songwriters in the Round” since its beginning and is one of the organization’s founding members. As well as being one of the featured performers over the years at Horizon Books Cafe Concert Series, he has opened for the likes of Bill Staines and Garnet Rogers, and has made a point of being involved with Veteran's Day programs over many years. His signature tune: Veteran's Day in Lawsonville has become an audience favorite. Joining Paul Koss are friends and bandmates Patrick Niemisto and Chris Skellenger.
$15 advance, $20 at the door. Ticket outlets: Sleder's Family Tavern, Brilliant Books and Oryana Food Cooperative. Veterans will be admitted free, but at the door only on the day of the show. Seating is limited, so advance ticket purchase is recommended. Veterans wishing to reserve a ticket should call 231.941.8667.
