Event Description

Chris Dombrowski, who is currently teaching creative writing at Interlochen, and is the author of two books of poetry and two chapbooks will lead this writing workshop. Leading masters of the genre will guide the class in an exploration of the persona poem and its functions. The class would look at how measured diction and syntax can produce a holistic polyphony, as well as historical subtext, and "distance" between the speaker and his/her subject. Students will leave the workshop with a least one completed exercise and the "start" of a poem.
