If you go just to hear the voices and the drums, you will be moved. If you go just to see the traditional dress and the dances, you will be stunned. If you go to enjoy the caravan of artists, food and craftsmen, you will be happy. One can enjoy this event on many levels and it takes on new meaning for me every time I go. I've never had the pleasure of seeing the opening ceremonies, which I understand are deeply meaningful. I did have the opportunity to sit next to someone who could explain the closing ceremonies to me last year. I won't try to explain for fear of misrepresenting or diminishing the ceremony.

I will encourage you to come see a Pow Wow. Bring the kids. You will be awestruck.
