Event Description

Puccini composed only nine operas, but they are among the most frequently performed and beloved operas in the world. His life was as dramatic as the lives of his characters, full of ecstasy as well as scandal. This delightful visual and musical program will show how “life imitates art” as Carol takes you on a behind the scenes look at this passionate and complex composer.

Carol’s love affair with Italy began when she traveled with her grandmother to their ancestral homeland in Tuscany.   There she learned from her grandmother through stories, cooking and listening to Pavarotti. Years later she traveled to Italy again, taking her grandmother’s journals with her and writing down her stories.  Carol wrote the award-winning book, The Stonecutter’s Aria and the Etruscans

Each Lunch & Learn costs $40 and includes a traditional Florentine lunch and a glass of wine. For reservations call the restaurant at 231-994-2400.  For more information about Michelle and the class visit bellafortunarestaurant.com/events.
