A cool (sorry for the pun) 4-day regional festival celebrating all things ice 'n snow...Feb. 13-16, 2009. Check www.winterwonderfest.org for complete details. Kids 10yrs & under get in for free.
Frozen fish toss, fireworks, outdoor music, carnival rides, competitions, and more...
This really is a terrific weekend of events and a true celebration of life in the North. This festival gets everyone outside, having fun, tossing fish, ice carving, sleigh rides, bobsled racing and on and on. I missed them last year, but I hear the fireworks on Sunday night are incredible. Fireworks in the winter are so stunning anyway because of the reflection off the snow. But I guess you guys really did it up right!
Is this the kind of weekend where people can just show up and participate? Is it pretty easy to figure out what to do and how to dive in? I know there are some events people need to register for listed on your website, but how about the other events?
Winter WonderFest is definitely one of those events where people should just come on out! Admission does require the purchase of a $10 button (kids 10 and under are free) with a portion of the proceeds going to the good works of Special Olympics Michigan.
Buttons provide folks w/ access to activities at each of the three venues: Downtown TC, Mt. Holiday and the Resort.
People can buy buttons in-advance at these three venues. There will also be Winter WonderFest "Welcome Desks" at each of the three venues where buttons will be offered for sale. Visit wwww.winterwonderfest.org for more details or send an email to info@winterwonderfest.org.
