Whatever may be on the list I can't get enough of Trattoria Stella in Traverse City. They must put my special drug in the food because I fantasize about and long for it. I enjoy a good restaurant meal and I have eaten in most of the top notch places in town. It has won my heart. Yum! And what great service. The staff is very well educated about the food. And the atmosphere is formal enough to go there on your anniversary, but at the same time relaxed enough that you could pop in for a meal after a hike on the Commons grounds. My second fav is Bowers Harbor. Stunning food and service. Let's go eat!

Take a drive and try the Blue Slipper in Onekama. A small Italian bistro with outstanding food and service. Ultra casual. We eat there often.
