Seeking Auction Items
Dear Conservancy Friends,
For those of us who put on our Annual Picnic and Auction, summer is literally just around the corner! To that end, we are now seeking items for our 2010 Picnic/Auction, which will be held on Thursday, August 5th. Save the date!
Can you help? Do you have something to donate that you know people would love to bid on? If so, please reply to this email and tell me what you have in mind. Below is a list of things our committee thought would be good, but please don’t feel limited to this list. If you have donated to this event in the past (thank you!), and would like to do so again, please let me know.
* Week’s stay at home or condo in a desirable locale
* Anything uniquely Leelanau—a special item, social event or excursion you just can’t buy…get creative!
* Weekend getaway package (past offerings have included theatre or sporting event tickets, B and B stay with restaurant certificates)
* Tickets to the Michigan/Michigan State football game or other college games; Redwings and Pistons tickets
* Cooking lessons of all types
* Air travel or fractional use of private plane to transport high bidders to events
* Golf passes to Up North courses—Leelanau and beyond
* Tickets to big name concert performers or plays
* Photography for family or children’s portraits
* Boat ride outings with picnics or wine, etc.
* Custom-made signs for family cottages/homes
* Antique wicker or other Northern cottage décor with or without a neat history
* “Green” items or services (think low water use appliances, compost bins, etc.)
* Good cooks to prepare/donate dinner for groups of 8
* Garden/landscaping related items or services
* Anything Mackinac Island, from ferry passes to lodging to restaurants
* Gift certificates to area restaurants or shops
Thank you in advance for helping us to put on an exciting auction that will help us in our mission to protect beautiful Leelanau.
Sincerely,
Carolyn Faught
