Leelanau Peninsula Wine, Food & Music Festival at Suttons Bay Marina

July 21, 2012 from 1pm to 7pm
Annual wine festival held in Suttons Bay at Marina Park Featuring 16 wineries, 8 food vendors, one brewery and one hard cider vendor. This year's entertainment showcases Hipps n Ricco and Charlie Witthoeft. Entrance is $15 per person which includes commemorative wine glass and two tasting tickets. Additional tasting tickets are available for $2 each. Full bottle sales will be available and must either be consumed or disposed of on site. This event is sponsored by Northwestern Bank.See More

Brew-a lovely new lunch destination

Perhaps one of the biggest perks about working on Front Street in Traverse City, and i'm sure my colleagues would attest, is being within walking distance of so many great lunch spots. Pangea's across the street makes a mean pizza, espresso bay on the corner is perfect for an afternoon pick me up ( or a early morning wake me up for that matter!) and Grand Traverse Pie Co. down the street is my one stop shop for a caesar salad.Today though, my fellow intern and I ventured left out of the…See More

Up North-far North!

Summer time Up North is all about warm weather, days at the beach and family cook outs. But-as most of us know-we're not always good about making time for those seasonal pleasures. Summer time Up North is all about warm weather, days at the beach and family cook outs. But-as most of us know-we're not always good about making time for those seasonal pleasures. Sleeping Bear Dunes- National Champ! As it Should be!

Saturday morning, 8:00 am at the coffeehouse. My fellow barista and I broke the normal routine. We turned down the radio, changed the channel from weather to Good Morning America and kept our fingers crossed. I wanted Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore to win Most Beautiful Place in America! I wanted the entire country to see how beautiful of an area I live in.
