I'm on a mission. I've been asked, like everyone else, to vision what kind of place I want Northern Michigan to be like in 30 years. I'm realizing, I want a paradigm shift and to get there, I have to start today.
My new BLOG at My Wheels are Turningis not just about bike lanes or street safety. It's not just about crosswalks and sidewalks.
It is about the larger issue of what kind of place we…Continue

There's not a lot of skiing along the Mason Dixon Line where I grew up and so I never had cause to buy skis as a kid. I did however have ice skates. Cations and Clay for gardening and bonsai--Master Gardener stuff
Traverse City, Michigan
Clay: physical properties
Clay is made up of very tiny flakes—how tiny, you ask? Well they measure in ten-thousandths of an inch. The hairs on your head are about .002” thick (two thousandths of an inch). By now, everyone has hopefully gotten past the holiday madness and you are comfortably settling into the New Year. I'm not much on New Year's resolutions but this year my goal is simple, draw more attention to Michigan as a destination for winter sports enthusiasts. The resorts have really stepped up to the challenge and are offering up more events and deals to attract visitors. This weekend kicks off a large number of events, some of which will continue throughout the season.

As 2010 is upon us at the Korner Kottage Bed and Breakfast in Suttons Bay, it is a time of reflection of the many guests who have passed through our doors. It takes a certain amount of trust on both parts, guest and inn keeper to make this a successful experience. But when you are lucky (or skilled… Continue
On the cusp of the blue moon, as the sweet light faded and the full moon clocked in, we ran dogs.
Our two new boys, Shiloh and Malakai, have only seen a dozen or so full moons, two in this month alone, and they needed an outlet to assist them in coping with the energy that comes from the moon’s gaze.
Luna = lunar = lunacy. I remember my Latin classes.
I assisted Russ in hooking up a team, including the newbies, and… Continue
