Nautica’s Sleeping Bear Dunes Men’s Fashion Collection

Imagine walking along the shore of Lake Michigan; the warm khaki sand between your toes, a scattering of small rocks and shells decorating the shoreline. A grey barge glides through the deep blue water. The only noises heard are the caw of a seagull off in the distance, the crash of the waves on beach and the hum of an orange coast guard helicopter as it patrols the waters.  …

pyramid point hike: sometimes northern michigan adds injury to insight

This summer's work adventures have inspired me to see more of the Sleeping Bear Dunes. And as luck would have it, a dear friend of mine was in need of the Bear's inspiration herself. Our plan was to hike Sunday afternoon on Labor Day weekend to Pyramid Point, a place I'd never been despite my familiarity with Northern Michigan. The sun was warm, but it kept…

Bear Creek, A favorite of mine.

One of the best things to do is to find a place that is out of the ordinary and right in your backyard. Fortunately for us we are in a rare area that has many of these gems a few miles away.

First off we took advantage of a little hiking trail down the road from home at the Spirit of the Woods Club. It was a dreary day with the sky unable to make a decision between spitting and downpouring. However we took to the woods anyway. Thank goodness that we did too.…
