News that Michael Moore is in Bellaire doesn’t usually elicit a whole lot more attention from locals than the beer du jour at Short’s Brewing Co. on North Bridge Street (fyi: dark cherry porter last Saturday). The State Theatre in downtown Traverse City projected, for free, a live big-screen feed of President Barack Obama’s inaugural address today, and I was fortunate to be there to take it in. New Year’s Eve morning, 2008, found me seated three feet from the night sky, ensconced in a red velvet chair. A bare-chested Tony Curtis moved in front of me speaking in a Cary Grant accent.
