Bruce is home! I nearly bolted through the door to see him. And then spent the night bouncing back and forth between my two lives. When my roomie went outside without me I was actually jealous. I couldn't decide where to be, outside with her while she and a neighborhood friend threw the last snow drifts up in the air with rakes. Or inside with Bruce while he caught up on my life by reading this blog.
The purpose of this blog was to let Bruce know what I was doing, from time to time, while he worked the winter tourist season in the islands. Now that spring has sprung, I'll go back to my life as his sidekick. And I'm going to close out this blog since I'll be leaving my ghost-writing roomies and going back to being a dog.
So if you see a Jeep parked near the Gusto restaurant in Suttons Bay with black-lab-'n-mutt mix sitting happily in the back, please stop and say, "Hello, Betty."

A note from Betty's ghostwriter: Dear reader, it's true, Betty is a dog. This blog was initially just meant to be a means of staying in touch. In keeping it, we followed some rules--we only reported what Betty actually did. She observably moped her first few days here. Bruce did call that night that she returned from the hill at sunset and spoke to her on the speaker phone. She stopped short and pricked up her ears when the coyotes howled. She frolicked in the new snow late in March. Although we suspect they had something to do with the deer's leg that we found in the yard, Betty's secret adventures will always be her secret.
We're honored to have had your attention--that was unexpected. Betty helped us all enjoy Northern Michigan through a new perspective. And we hope you did too.
