As September’s song begins to take hold, my wife and I are heading for a new beginning in Wisconsin. There are several reasons for the move but the short answer is THE FIRST GRANDSON whose name is Ryan and who lives with his parents in Chicago, a mere two and a half hours from our new home in Whitewater.

Thanks very much to Rachel North who commissioned me to write a weekly blog back in the early spring. I enjoyed it very much and hope to have contributed a little to what is becoming a very fine website that will be enjoyed by residents and visitors alike. When we come back to visit in northern Michigan we’ll be sure to take a look at the MyNorth.com events and blogs to find out what is going on.

And thanks also to the Top of Michigan Trails Council that allowed me to learn some new skills in helping to develop trails in our area. It’s a great cause and I feel privileged to have been a part of it. There are some great people in and around the Trails Council

Will there be trails in my future? It’s too early to tell but there’s no question that we’ll at least be riding some of the Badger State’s finest trails. And during vacation times, our great northern Michigan trails will
attract us again as well.

Tom--Thank you. Your voice has been an important resource for our readers and us at MyNorth.com. I hope you'll encourage someone at the Trails Council to try to fill the void and report on all the trail news.

That is one handsome reason to start a new adventure in Wisconsin. You'll have to get your own baby trail carrier and introduce that youngster to trails early.

You will be missed, Tom. Thank you again.
