After a few "very busy months", life at the Korner Kottage Bed and Breakfast is much quieter now. We had another record breaking summer/fall season, even despite the unpredictable cooler, wetter, weather. We feel so very blessed. Thank you to all our wonderful guests, (first time visitors or repeat friends) who continue to find us along scenic M~22. The quaint village of Suttons Bay, along with the wonderful wineries, restaurants and unique shops has become quite the tourist destination.
Our Korner Kottage Krunch~home made granola business~ kept us busy as well during the season. We still are sending it off to several local grocery stores (Hansen's, Oleson's, Anderson's) as well as several down state locations. As always, it is available here at the B&B and can be purchased on line via our site www.kornerkottage.com. Many of our guests take a box home with them and then get hooked so we ship more off to them where ever they are.
Along with the quieter house, comes more free time. Time for us to enjoy some of the things that attracted us to Northern Michigan in the first place. Along with our Nestle Quik (portuguese water dog) we have been enjoying the fall days, hiking in the woods, both here in Leelanau, as well as the grounds at the Commoms in Traverse City. With the leaves still hanging onto some of the trees, it is a beautiful back drop to romp around and marvel at the beauty of the place we now call "home". We truly are lucky to live in such a wonderful spot in the world.
Availability is now an easier goal for our off season travelers who prefer a slower, quieter pace. We are open here at the B&B if you are looking for a pre holiday get away or a post holiday relax and de~stresser. Most of the wineries, restaurants and shops are open as well (some on a more limited schedule). The outdoor nature activities never shut down. You can't go wrong~just walk out the door.
Winters are lovely here in Suttons Bay. Long walks by the bay or in the woods and then a return to a cup of hot tea or mulled cider along with a good book are part of our daily routine. It's a great way to spend a day or evening, snuggling in if the weather is particulary inclement. Won't you join us for some winter time comfort? We are always looking for company...because it's that time of year again.
