I was in Lansing yesterday attending the Energy Optimization workshop
of the MPSC. The heads of Home Performance with Energy Star
and Michigan Saves
were there discussing their programs. Both are progams are geared toward helping homeowners realize deep energy retrofits of their homes.
Of particular interest is Michigan Saves pilot program in Traverse City being announced shortly and highlighted at the Grand Traverse Green Conference
on February 5 & 6 at the Hagerty Center. The pilot partners are Cherryland Electric, Brown Lumber and Members Credit Union.
Michigan Saves is a financing program for energy retrofits where the homeowners does not see an increase in their annual budget. The retrofits are financed by the energy savings over time via the utility bills. Once this programs evolves it will dramatically help people address the budgetary constraints of improving their home's poor energy performance.
Hope your day is full of energy!
