Quilt Show Recipes and Report

The Quilt Show was spectacular – 200 plus attended on October 10th! Hats off to Joan Bell and Lois Stretlien for chairing the Quilt Show Committee – a huge job requiring many, many volunteer hours – and to the numerous others who helped make it a great success. And, congratulations to Sharon Glen, a friend of our own Judy Walter, whose lucky name was drawn and is now the proud owner of the wonderful quilt made by the women of our Church.

A special thanks to Connie Eisenhart and Nonie Steele who worked diligently all day cooking and serving a very tasty luncheon to 57 hungry Quilt Show visitors. The soups were delicious; and, by special request, the recipes follow. A special thank you to those who worked on the luncheon: Nonie Steele, Marilyn Cerny, Jane Nichols, Cathy Smith, Barb Klein, Val Schuette, Shirley Wall, Brenda Ehle, Ruthanne Wilson, Connie Eisenhart … and many thanks as well to Howard Eisenhart. We Congo Women welcome a man’s help now and then! The yummy cookies were provided by Nonie Steele, Edith Farnham, Cathy Smith, Robin Long, Marilyn Cerny, Val Schuette, Brenda Ehle, and candy by Emma Watson. Thanks to these bakers also. All the willing workers helped to gross nice profit. Thanks to all!
