Brent and Jean Wadsworth, want to jump start the efforts of the Leelanau Conservancy to save Sonny Swanson’s beloved 90-acre farm near Sugarloaf in Leelanau County, with 2,000 feet of shoreline on Little Traverse Lake.
The Wadsworths, who have a home on Little Traverse Lake, have put forth a $100,000 challenge grant to help with the project. “We have vacationed in Leelanau for almost 30 years,” says Brent. “We feel this project has value to all of Leelanau County. We value the boating and fishing and water sport opportunities on Little Traverse Lake we like the fact that it’s on the edge of the National Park and all of the great amenities we have here. We’re just proud to be a part of this effort and hope others will be inspired to join it too.”
The Leelanau Conservancy needs to raise $900,000 by January 30, 2011. Want to help? Click here to donate or contact the Leelanau Conservancy, 105 North First Street, P. O. Box 1007, Leland, MI 49654. 231.256.9665. [email protected] theconservancy.com.
